Introduction

Most radioactive fields consist of different types of radiation. The most common include fast neutron, thermal neutron, primary gamma rays and secondary gamma rays. The borated polyethylene has designed to attenuate these types of radiations.

Borated polyethylene sheets are designed particularly for neutron shielding in nuclear facilities and medical applications. Because of the high hydrogen concentration, fast neutrons are slowed to lower energy thermal (slow) neutrons, which are subsequently absorbed by the added boron compound making borated polyethylene sheets perfect for a diverse range of applications
